I lay my head

On your chest,

Listening to your heartbeat.

The high that you give me

Is no small feat.

I stop mid-step

To stare at blank walls,

Your love paints pictures

Wherever my eyes fall.

It’s crazy, but magnificent,

This love could only be

Like a week full of Fridays,

Like electricity in Nigeria

That lasts all day.

Like an expensive bowl of ice cream,

I savour and treasure you,

The heart and soul

Of my dreams.

My heartbeat,

You breathed heat

Into my cold heart.
