Poem: When I Write.

When I write

My soul ignites,

And I burst

Into flames,

As the words call out

My name.

Every emotion

Is an opportunity,

To design a world

Not currently existing.

To write to my heart’s delight,

To bleed words with all of my might.

No heartbreak is

off limits,

No love is lost:

I will clean my tears

And write about it.

No plagiarists can

steal my joy,

Even though like the Biblical thief,

They seek to steal, kill and destroy.

To write well,

You have to be under a spell,

Twisting worldly worries

Into compelling stories.

Writing is like a never-ending war

Where you are always the Victor.
