There are a lot of things that I don’t miss about the early 2000s (such as low-rise jeans), but I do miss the cable TV gem known as Channel O (why did DSTV West Africa get rid of it? π€). Here, we were blessed with quality RnB and Hip Hop music videos which served as a solid background for our young(ish) lives.
It was through Channel O that I discovered Maxwell, an American RnB singer with sublime vocal talent and effortless delivery that would make you stare into space for hours after listening to his music.
My favourite Maxwell songs are Lifetime and Let’s not play the game. I also love his rendition of Al Green’s ‘Simply Beautiful’ at the 2008 BET awards; a memorable and delightful performance.
I forget to be cynical when I listen to Maxwell’s love songs ππΎπ
Other Maxwell songs that I enjoy are:
Get to know ya.
Ascension.
Pretty wings.
Fire we make (duet with Alicia Keys).
This woman’s work.
Wherever whenever whatever.
Fortunate.
Are there any Maxwell fans out there? Let me know!
Ivie.
