Poem: Signals.

I wove the flag:

Left and right,

Right and left.

But his eyes weren’t focused on me;

My shoulders slumped in defeat.

I batted my eyelashes:

Up and down,

Down and up.

But my efforts, he didn’t entertain;

All my gestures were in vain.

I suddenly became a Philosopher,

Pondering life’s lessons,

My brain became consumed

With marvelous matters,

If I wanted him

But he didn’t want me,

Surely that couldn’t be all that life

Had for me?

I walked off with my signals, feelings and

The rest of my love paraphernalia,

Wondering if my subdued heart

Would ever make another appearance.
