I know-what a cliché! But it’s the simple truth.
I started classicallyivy.com in 2015, and at the time, I knew nothing about things like blog statistics or peak times for posting. I simply wanted to write and share my thoughts with others. This fact is what has helped me to sustain my blog for this long.
Another dimension to being yourself is knowing where your writing passions lie. I am passionate about sharing stories and relatable poetry, and these are what my writing is almost always about. I am interested in music, makeup and movies, for instance, but not enough to write about these topics every single week. (When someone tells me that I should, for instance, write about politics, I want to ask them if they have ever actually read my blog).
Know where your passions lie, and even as you learn about the technicalities of blogging, your writing blog, like mine, should ultimately be a representation of who you are.
Before you actually start your blog, be confident in your writing abilities and in being yourself.
